Desire to Succeed
If you know of anyone who is or has been successful in a business either online or in a brick and mortar work space, there seems to be some defining factors on what it is that makes these people achieve success in their niches. How do they keep on going year after year? Is it because they are smarter than most of us?
I hear a lot of people who want to start a business say “I can’t do that because I’m not smart enough”. That statement is mostly untrue. Successful people may have a little more knowledge in respect to a business than the average person because of their experiences in the business world.
Knowledge which they have gained through other people in the business world or trial and error along the way to get where they are today. Knowledge can be acquired or learned by anyone with some training and a little hands on experience.
I believe that one of the most important factors in getting to where you want to be and to achieve your financial goal is the desire to succeed no matter what type of business you are in. This is what pushes people to do better and learn more and to spend the time needed to take a business to the next level.
Aligning itself with the desire to building a new business is a dedicated Work Ethic. This applies especially to people who can telecommute with their job, people working from home or having an online business.
What a great way to earn a living, sitting on your couch or dinning room table working on a computer or laptop at a job that will give you an income! But that my friend is exactly what it is….a job. A job where you have to put in the time to see results and hopefully income from your labor. True, you don’t have to go out or be in a specific place in an eight to five time frame, but in the beginning you still will have to sometimes work longer and harder than at your present job.
There will be no one to tell you where and for how long you have to work or what you have to wear or how long your lunch or breaks will be. No waiting to put in for time off for vacations, sick time or time off for any reason. You are your own boss.
This is where successful people excel and other people fall off, becoming too attached to the feeling of freedom and not putting in the time needed for training and learning the basic skills to become successful. Put your distractions aside, turn off your phone and TV, lock your door if necessary and dedicate a certain amount of time per day to create your business brand and commit to it.
Willingness to Learn Something New
Not only willingness but also be eager to learn new skills including how to find a niche, building a website, setting it up for search engine optimization, (SEO) and filling it up with awesome content to attract visitors. There is so much information to be learned and digested when it comes to all these things that sometimes it can be overwhelming and many aspiring entrepreneurs feel they will never learn all there is to know and give up.
Learning is something we all had to do from a very young age. We had to learn to crawl, to walk, to talk then to school for more knowledge and so on, and so on. Learning a new online business is no different or harder that it was back then nor does it need to be. If you are willing to learn something new every day and apply what you learn to your new business, and have the desire then you have a good chance of succeeding in what you are doing. “Knowledge Is Power.”
Persistence In Being Successful
Be persistent! Don’t give up on your dream, ask questions if you get stuck or don’t understand how to progress further along with your business. One thing I have discovered over the years is that people who are successful are constantly striving to move their business to a new level by asking questions, finding answers and applying those answers to bolster their financial bottom line and never looking back.
If you look back in history, what sets successful people like Thomas Edison, Andrew Carnegy and Henry Ford apart was their persistence. Always looking for answers, being innovative, trying new ideas, and developing new technologies to bring their passion to the forefront.
Competition was always around trying to edge ahead and become number one in their field and persistence was what kept technology moving forward even in today’s world.
Patience is the Key
In starting a new venture in whatever niche you choose, the most important attribute a person must have is patience. Many people don’t realize how much time is involved in starting a business, and often quite a bit of time.
There is coming up with a niche or an idea, then research to find if it will be the right one. Finding a name for your company, and on to start building your website. You must have the knowledge or take some training and then apply the steps to learn how to create a website and all that goes along with it.
“Rome wasn’t built in a day” they say and more than likely your business won’t be either. You’ve heard all the claims on the internet “Get Rich in Three Days” but really what they are saying is give us money and we will be rich in three days.
When you start a business online it will take time. You will not get rich overnight, in three days or three weeks. But if you take the time to, follow your desire, have a solid work ethic, be willing to learn, be persistent, and have patience, things will fall into place and you will be successful in your business.
